Laduree, Harrods London
I went to visit Iqa in London and we had tea at Laduree, Harrods. The nearest tube station to Harrods is Knightsbridge via the Picadilly Line. The Laduree tearoom is located at the lower ground floor of the building. The placed is crowded with rich Arabs and we were just gawking at how beautiful some of them were. We basically gossiped the entire time about the other patrons around us! Hey, can’t blame us, the women just look stunning k.
Anyway, this is what we ordered at Laduree.
1) Iced Mint Tea – for me (£3.25/RM16.25)
2) Vanilla Tea – for Iqa (£3.35/RM16.75)
3) Truffle Omelette – to share (£12.25/RM61.25)
4) 10 Assorted Macarons – to share (£19.00/RM95.00) or its £1.90 each.
The prices are super inflated as you can see plus there is additional service charge but to be honest, nothing of what I ate managed to blow me away. Everything was just… average. The tea tasted like mint with water. The truffle omelette tasted very basic (Truffle here refers to mushrooms/fungi, not the chocolate truffles tuu)and the macarons were just not nice. It was too heavy and the cream in between had a very strong flavour. The base was just chewy and tasted like cookies. Its like there is just too much going on in one piece of macaron! For me, simple is the best! btw, I am guessing that the macarons were baked a few days before. It just wasn’t so fresh. The vanilla tea was nice though.

Maybe I am not accustomed to high-end places like this, no wonder I found my first dining experience there as a slight letdown. I even thought of pisang goreng at some point. Lagi sedap pls! lol.
Having said that, the ambience and the interior décor were amazing and posh. White walls surrounded the tearoom and the way they displayed the food was just so beautiful. Just look at the pic below k.

p/s Sorry if it bothers some people if I mention the prices in my tumblr because I think that it is informative that people know. I personally would like to know about the price of something etc.
